Geoff Pack
OCC Award - 1993
Geoff was well known for his writing, but perhaps less so for his sailing. Having crossed the Atlantic with his wife Lou Lou first in a diminutive Wharram catamaran and then in a Rival 34, this award recognised the quiet way he later put to sea with a brood of small children. He and Lou Lou sailed their 40ft catamaran across the Atlantic with three children under five, and were planning to go further until work intervened to curtail their voyage (he had been offered the Editorship of Yachting Monthly magazine).
