received £20 & plaque, presumably in recognition of his singlehanded circumnavigation aboard GIPSY MOTH IV, with a single stop in Sydney. He returned to Plymouth on 28 May 1967 after 226 days at sea, becoming the first person to achieve a true eastabout solo circumnavigation via the Great Capes.
