Peter Paternotte travelled from his home in the Netherlands to receive the Qualifier’s Mug for his account of his transatlantic passage aboard Gateway, his Vancouver 34C. After a delayed start, he and his brother-in-law left Tenerife for a textbook crossing to Barbados, and his lively account of the voyage in Flying Fish 2011/2, together with excellent photographs, made him the clear winner of the award.
