The Ocean Cruising Club is updating the OCC Forum

The OCC Forum is soon to be updated and made more user friendly.

OCC Privacy Policy Updated

We have updated our Privacy Policy. Please read the Policy in full (see link below), and note that your continued membership of the Club confirms your acceptance of this Policy.

Online Event Booking and Other Forms

The following online forms are currently active and can be completed by clicking on the appropriate link:

Only those events for which online booking is open are listed above. For the full events diary please click here.

Forum

The OCC forum has been moved from the main website to a separate subdomain and server: http://forums.oceancruisingclub.org.

This is primarily a security measure as all members have the ability to upload attachment files to the forum and there is a risk of a virus infected or trojan file inadvertently being uploaded to the forum. The forum has now been separated from the server containing members details so that even if an infected file gets onto the forum it is "quarantined" well away from any sensitive data.

Login is not necessary to read the forum, but to post or access members' only topics, you will need to first login in to the forum at the top right hand corner of the forum banner using the same username and password as you use for the members only pages.

Security

The Members Only area contains personal information about OCC members which is intended solely for the use of members and should not be disclosed to anyone outside of the club.

This personal information is also subject to the Data Protection Act and both the OCC and its members have a legal obligation to ensure it is not disclosed to unauthorised persons. For its part the OCC has taken all reasonable measures to secure the membership database and the members only area against unauthorised access. However, as a member you also have a part to play in keeping our data secure and when using the OCC website we would ask that you follow with the following simple guidelines:

  • Never disclose your OCC website password to anyone else, or write it down on a piece of paper which is affixed or adjacent to your computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone.

  • Never save your OCC password in your browser unless the device on which the browser is running is itself password/PIN protected i.e. never save it on a device which anyone can get into without needing your personal password/PIN.

  • If you lose, or have stolen, a device on which your OCC password is saved in the browser, then you should inform the OCC Secretary as soon as possible so that your account username and password can be reset.

  • Wherever possible avoid logging into the Members Only area of the website from a public computer (e.g. internet café). If this is unavoidable then you should take the following additional precautions:

    • Never save your password in the browser of a public device

    • Always specifically log out of the OCC members only area at the end of your session by using the button on the top left hand corner of the screen

    • Delete your browsing history in the browser so no record of the pages you have visited is accessible by those that come after you
