OCC Roving Rear Commodores' Report from Fiji

Caramor’s cruise to Fiji from Marsden Cove, NZ was delightful, and mostly under her new light-wind code 0.

By Kath McNulty & Franco Ferrero - 23/10/2019

We needed a bit of tranquillity after our hectic refit in Whangarei.

We made landfall in Savu Savu with ambitious plans for the Lau Group. Sadly it wasn’t to be. We sailed to Vanua Balavu which was amazing and beautiful, one of my favourite places in the world, but Franco wasn’t well so we left, sailing overnight to Suva where we knew we would find excellent medical care.

As Franco’s condition is going to take several months to heal and cyclone season was approaching fast, we decided to fly to the UK.

Kath will return to Fiji mid-October to sail Caramor back to New Zealand with David Berg (husband to Mary, our PO in Whangarei).
