"Silk Purse" - 1998 Mark Ellis designed 40

A 1988 custom steel 40’ cutter, designed by Mark Ellis and based on his design of the Niagara 35.

Original owners lived aboard and sailed her for almost 20 years in the Caribbean and the Med.

I bought her in 2007 – set her up for single handing and upgraded her with new rigging, sails, engine (Beta 43), Kiwi prop, Furuno chartplotter/radar, AIS, Hydrovane windvane, DuoGen wind/water generator, 950ah house, Raymarine autopilot and wind indicator, refrigerator, and much more.

I sailed the BC/Alaska coast, crossed the Pacific, and cruised Japan for six years.

Canadian flagged and located in Fukuoka, Japan.

Excellent condition.
