With ‘Brisa’ laid up in Grenada until late November we have been enjoying a myriad of mostly land related activities in UK.

Nevertheless we have completed some short cruises and races in our much travelled Sadler 34 ‘Calisto’ and have already clocked up this summer more miles underway than we typically achieve in a Caribbean season! And, as we enjoy one the driest summers for 40years, this has been in sharp contrast to our most recent Caribbean season which was the wettest we have experienced. While there in the so called dry season most of our water supplies came from above.

A highlight of our summer so far has been a magnificent & very generously hosted party gathering far from the sea in Yorkshire to celebrate Paul Read’s (formerly of ‘Shian’) recent (big) birthday. Apart from the presence of Paul and Janie’s more local friends there was a large representation of OCC Caribbean cruisers (from some 12 boats) - past and present. Hopefully, even without the trigger of a birthday, a dedicated reunion of Caribbean cruisers can be organized in future years!

Meanwhile on the Yealm we are delighted to see the occasional OCC flagged visitor and are always ready, when home, to assist in whatever way we can.
