By Daria Blackwell - 29/08/2017

Jon Sanders arrived at the Bundaberg Port Marina onboard his yacht "Perie Banou II". This is Jon's 10th circumnavigation of the planet and when he arrives back in Perth will add another achievement to his long list of records of being the oldest singlehanded sailor to complete a circumnavigation at the age of 78.

Thirty years ago, on the 29th of May 1987 - Day 370, John Sanders completed a triple circumnavigation. But he didn't stop there. On the 28th August 2017 he completed a record 10th circumnavigation. The OCC applauds Jon's extraordinary feat of seamanship.

Some of Jon's other stats include:
• 3x consecutive unassisted circumnavigations of the planet
• The longest distance ever sailed continuously by any vessel unassisted and solo of 71,023 nautical miles
