EU Requests Input on Marine Pollution by Single-Use Plastics

As ocean cruisers we have first-hand experience with the volume of plastic pollution, and its effect on the marine environment and its inhabitants.

The EU has posted a survey questionnaire about people's awareness of the roles of discarded single-use plastics and fishing gear in marine pollution. The questionnaire also asks for opinions on how to reduce the volume of plastics used and how to pay for clean-up. With China's refusal to continue recycling the world's rubbish as of January 1, the need to reduce the volume of plastic waste is now finally urgent.

If you have about 15 minutes to spare, especially if you live in the EU, please contribute to the knowledge base. (They say it can take up to 30 minutes or more but it didn't take nearly that long.) The closing date for the online survey is February 12.
